Marcin Engineering provided planning, civil engineering design, and land surveying for a multi-story high-density development in downtown Avon.

Description: Marcin Engineering provided planning, civil engineering design, and land surveying for a multi-story high-density development in downtown Avon. This project involved the design of very complex drainage, hydraulic, utility and grading issues along with a very aggressive design and construction schedule. A particularly ingénues idea conceived by Marcin Engineering was to store storm water detention on Town property to allow the Owner to utilize an additional 1/3 acre of their property. This involved delicate negotiation with the Town of Avon and complex hydraulic analysis. Marcin Engineering was heavily involved in the planning effort. This included participating in several public meetings and being involved in several closed door meetings with the Town of Avon, often being the sole project representative, negotiating terms and conditions for project approval. Marcin Engineering additionally provided a lobbying effort to help obtain votes and to gain in-site of the Towns needs. Marcin was also responsible for resolving very difficult platting and subdividing issues providing the Owner with a complex three dimension “airspace” plat to define property ownerships for different points in space. This project was successfully approved and construction started in August 2000.
